Permanent Exterior Lighting Installation in Lansingburgh

We install LED lights in a low-profile track along your roofline so your home exterior is lit every night of the year. You pick colors and schedules from your phone, and the ladder stays in the garage. We'll tell you plainly what it takes for your house.

What permanent lighting is, and who it suits

Permanent lighting is a row of small LED lights set into an aluminum channel that mounts under the roof edge or along the fascia. The channel is painted to match your trim, so during the day most people walk past without noticing it. At night it gives you soft white accent light, or any color you choose.

It makes the most sense for people who are done with the yearly routine of stringing lights up and taking them back down, or who want the house lit in every season instead of only December. If you decorate for a single week and actually enjoy doing it yourself, the spend may not pay off for you. We'll tell you that honestly.

Everything runs from an app. You can set a nightly warm white schedule, switch to orange in October and red and green in December, and never touch a clip again.

What the installation includes

A walk-around and measurement

We measure every run of roofline you want lit and note peaks, corners and second-story sections. You get a clear layout of where lights will go before anything is ordered.

Trim-matched track

The channel is finished to blend with your fascia or gutters. It mounts with screws into solid trim, never through your shingles.

LED lights and controller

Lights are spaced evenly along the track and wired to a controller and power supply. We place the power supply where it stays dry, usually in a garage or near an existing outlet.

App setup on your phone

Before we leave, we connect the system to your Wi-Fi, load a few starter scenes and show you how to build your own schedules.

Cleanup

We pick up every clipping, screw and scrap of packaging. Your yard looks the way it did when we arrived.

Signs permanent lighting makes sense for you

You dread the holiday ladder trip
If climbing to the roof edge in cold weather is the part of the season you hate, a permanent system removes it for good.
Plastic clips keep breaking
Snap-on clips crack in the cold and can bend gutter edges. A fixed track gives the lights a solid, even mount.
Your entry and driveway are dark
Accent light along the roofline makes the front of the house easier to see coming home on winter evenings, when it gets dark before five.
You decorate for more than one holiday
If you like colors for game days, Halloween and the Fourth, one system covers all of them from your phone.
You want better curb appeal at night
A clean line of warm white light shows off the shape of the house without the tangle of cords.

How the job goes

  1. 1

Call us for a free quote

Describe the house and the parts you want lit. We book a visit to look and measure, then hand you a written quote showing the footage, the controller and any extras.

  2. 2

Picking the color and the layout

We match the track color to your trim and settle which parts of the roofline get lights. If the outlet sits in an awkward place, we go over your choices before you sign on.

  3. 3

    Installation day

A typical single-family home takes one day. We fasten the track, set the lights, run the wires neatly along the trim and hook up the power supply.

  4. 4

    Final check and app lesson

When timing works, we light it up after dark; otherwise we test in daylight and go through the app with you. Before we go, you know how to switch scenes on your own.

What moves the price

Every quote comes down to how much roofline you light and how hard it is to reach. We list each part separately so you can see where the money goes and trim the layout if you want to.

Linear feet of roofline
The biggest driver. Lighting only the front of the house costs less than wrapping every side.
Height and roof shape
Second and third stories, steep peaks and lots of corners take more time and more careful ladder work.
Power and controller location
If there is a usable outlet near where the run starts, wiring is simple. A long run to reach power, or a second controller for a large house, adds to the cost.
Trim condition
The track needs solid wood or metal to hold onto. Soft or rotted fascia, common on older homes, has to be addressed first, and we'll point it out at the measurement.

Permanent lighting questions

Is the track visible in daylight?
Barely. It is a narrow channel painted to match your trim, so from the road it looks like part of the house. Most people only spot it after the lights turn on.
Can the system handle a long winter?
Yes, that is what it is made for. Every LED is sealed and rated for outdoors, and the run sits tucked under the roof edge, sheltered from most of a Lansingburgh winter. Snow that piles on the gutters does not reach it, so it runs the same in January as in July.
Will you drill into my roof?
No. We fasten the track to the fascia or soffit trim and never through the shingles, so your roof covering stays as it is.
What happens if the Wi-Fi drops?
Your saved schedule lives on the controller, so the lights keep turning on and off on time. You only lose the ability to switch scenes in the app until the connection returns.
If one light fails, can it be swapped?
Yes. Each light sits in the track on its own, so we can replace a single one without pulling down the rest of the run.
